Saint Mary's May Breakfast - May 6 2017 - Parish Hall
A Tradition Restored on May 6th It’s time again for the unique Rhode Island tradition of May breakfasts. On May Day – often on the first Saturday in May – these spring breakfasts are held in church halls, fire stations, community centers and grange halls – a tradition that dates back to 1867 when the first May breakfast was held. The tradition has continued in for over 100 years, and Saint Mary's continues the tradition. The first Saturday in May, the 6th, the New England tradition of May Breakfast will happen again after a break of a few years at Saint Mary’s. The newly refurbished Parish Hall will be the location for a variety of traditional breakfast treats and a few new surprises. From 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 you can feast on Portuguese French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, breakfast breads, muffins, fruit, juice, and coffee for a cost of $7.00 for adults, $4.00 for children over five. Children under five are free.
